PLAYER INFORMATION
SCGA WOMEN’S FOUR-BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

REGISTRATION:
All participants must check in at the SCGA registration table upon arrival on Monday morning and Tuesday morning.
Tamarisk Country Club: There will be valet parking, and registration will be inside the front entrance of the clubhouse.
Mission Hills Country Club: There will be valet parking, and registration will be in the 55th Room Restaurant on the lower level across from the practice putting green.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
Round one starting hole assignments and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship. All three courses will feature an 8 a.m. shotgun start both days of the championship. Round two starting hole assignments and parings will be based upon round one scores and will be available approximately two hours after the conclusion of round one.
Players are encouraged to arrive well in advance of the shotgun starting time, as there will be announcements and information to share with players.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
Tamarisk CC: Practice Rounds at Tamarisk will be available on any day during the week prior to the event (April 30 - May 6). Fees are $75 including cart. Starting times can be booked one week in advance for all practice rounds by calling the golf shop at (760) 324.8431. Practice rounds will be granted at the sole discretion of the club.
Mission Hills CC: Reservations can be made by calling the Mission Hills Golf Shop at (760) 324-7336 beginning on Wednesday, May 2 after 2 pm. Practice rounds will be granted beginning on May 4 after 12 pm. at the sole discretion of the club. $75 for green fee, cart and range balls.
FORMAT AND FLIGHTS:
The Championship will be 36 holes of four-ball stroke play competition (two-person better ball). 18 holes will be played each day. The championship field will be divided into one gross division and five net flights. The gross division will compete without handicaps. The net division will be divided into five flights based on the combined team Handicap Indexes. In the net division, players will play to their lowest Handicap Index of the last six revisions during each phase of the competition (February 1 to April 15) and all women will play to 95% of their Course Handicap. If partners’ Course Handicaps differ by more than eight strokes, an additional 10% reduction will be applied to their Course Handicaps.

DRIVING RANGE: Range balls will be provided compliments of the two host facilities.
At Tamarisk CC, the driving range will open at 6:30 a.m.
At Mission Hills CC, the driving range will open at 6 a.m.
FOOD SERVICE:
The snack bar at both Tamarisk CC* and Mission Hills CC will be open by 6:30 a.m. on each day of the championship. Players will be on their own for breakfast as well as any other miscellaneous food and beverage purchases. The SCGA will host a player’s lunch immediately following play on Tuesday. Caddies and spectators are on their own for all food and beverage purchases.
PURCHASES:
Mission Hills: Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.
Tamarisk CC*: There will be a set menu for breakfast and snack bar purchases, which must be made through SCGA staff with either a check or cash.

RULES OF PLAY:
Play is governed by the Rules of Golf. Local Rules in effect will be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players addendum distributed at the site. Disregard all other club posted Local Rules including those on the back of the club’s score card.
AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:
Golf carts are included as part of the entry fee. There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates). Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk. Pull carts and push carts are allowed.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES AND CELL PHONES:
During the play of all SCGA competitions, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3. A multi-functional device, such as a smartphone or PDA, may be used as a distance-measuring device, but it must not be used to gauge or measure other conditions where doing so would be a breach of Rule 14-3. Any questions about such devices should be resolved before the start of the stipulated round. Otherwise, cell phone use is discouraged during the stipulated round.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
Players may provide their own caddie (See section on Automotive Transportation). Caddies must adhere to the dress code listed in section below. Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.
DRESS CODE:
Players and caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts and tank tops will not be permitted.
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT:
By submitting an entry for any SCGA-administered competition, the contestant understands that his/her participation is at the sole discretion of the SCGA. A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the SCGA staff or Rules and Competitions Committee at any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the SCGA or the “Spirit of the Game” are grounds for such removal and suspension from future SCGA-administered competitions. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property
- Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing
- Offensive or unbecoming language
- Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of SCGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants
- Potential endangerment of others
- Conduct deemed unbecoming
- Failure to post scores for handicapping purposes
- Manipulation of scores posted for handicapping purposes
CANCELLATIONS:
To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Rules and Competitions Department at (818) 980-3630, or by clicking here. If a player needs to withdraw on the morning of the event, notify the SCGA staff person through the golf shop staff at the host venue. Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions. Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $10 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
